Associate Professor at the Department of Engineering “Enzo Ferrari”, University of Modena and Reggio Emilia, Italy. In 2005 he received the master’s degree cum Laude in Electronic Engineering and in 2009 the Ph.D. in Electronics and Telecommunications both from the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia, Italy. From 2009 to 2021 he was a researcher and Assistant Professor at the Department of Engineering “Enzo Ferrari” at the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia.

From 2014 to 2019, he was also head of the MS2 laboratory (Materials, Systems, and Sensors) at the TPM, Science and Technology Park for Medicine Mario Veronesi in Mirandola, Italy (https://tpm.bio/en/).
His research interests have been and continue to be dominated by the challenge to develop and validate new measurement methods and measuring systems for industrial and biomedical applications.
Professor Cattini is a member of the IEEE Instrumentation and Measurement Society (I&M), and he serves on the Editorial Board of several international journals as well as on the Program Committee and the Organization Board of various international conferences. He is co-author of more than 50 peer-reviewed papers in international journals and conferences and, he is the author of two patents. Prof. Cattini is a member of the IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers), the SPIE (Society of Photo-Optical Instrumentation Engineers), and the GMEE (Italian Group of Electrical and Electronic Measurements).
